Motorcyclist seriously injured in overtaking crash in Tyrol

A 60-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with an oncoming car on the Unterinntal road L211 in Breitenbach am Inn on Tuesday, ORF reported.
According to police, the Austrian was travelling from Wörgl towards Breitenbach am Inn at about 4.25 p.m. when he attempted to overtake a lorry. He apparently failed to see an oncoming car driven by a 21-year-old Austrian, and the vehicles collided.
The motorcyclist was thrown from his motorcycle and suffered serious injuries to his left leg. He was given first aid and flown by emergency helicopter to Innsbruck Clinic.
The car driver and the 44-year-old lorry driver were uninjured. The road was closed to all traffic for about an hour while the accident was being investigated.
