Police stopped a bus from a Kosovar travel company in Rosenbach and found two drivers allegedly operating regular cross-border services without the required concession certificates, ORF reported. The drivers, aged 38 and 40, were also suspected of collecting fares from passengers without issuing tickets.
Officers found serious violations of driving and rest-time rules involving both men. The 38-year-old was also found to be staying illegally in Austria and was taken to the Villach police detention centre under an arrest warrant issued by the Federal Office for Immigration and Asylum.
Both men were banned from entering Austria. Authorities also collected provisional security payments of several thousand euros from the suspects to secure the administrative proceedings.
