Court awards disputed FC Lucern shares to Bernhard Alpstaeg

The Lucerne District Court has ruled in favour of FC Lucerne major shareholder Bernhard Alpstaeg, awarding him a disputed 25 percent stake in FCL Holding AG, SRF reported.

The shares must be entered in the company’s share register without conditions or restrictions and with full voting rights. The ruling gives Alpstaeg ownership of 52 percent of FCL Holding AG.

The board of the central Swiss football club had argued that the sale of the shares to Alpstaeg was unlawful and had removed them from the share register. Alpstaeg challenged that decision in a lawsuit filed in 2023.

FCL Holding AG has 30 days to appeal the ruling. FC Lucerne said in a written statement that it would do so within the deadline, while remaining open to continuing dialogue.
