The Munich fire service helped a family contact emergency services in Italy after the mother collapsed during a holiday in Bibione, BR reported. The family was nearly 300 kilometres away from Munich.

The woman’s 11-year-old daughter did not know how to call the Italian emergency number. Instead, she called her father in Munich, who then dialled the emergency number in Germany.

A dispatcher at Munich’s emergency control centre gathered the information and passed the call to colleagues abroad, according to the fire service.

An ambulance in Italy took the woman and her children to hospital. The fire service said she was recovering and could probably return soon to the family’s holiday accommodation in the metropolitan area of Venice.
