A 60-year-old man from Carinthia lost several thousand euros after ordering and paying for a residential container online, ORF reported. The container was never delivered.

He ordered the container from a French online shop on May 21, 2026, for several thousand euros, including delivery and unloading in Klagenfurt-Land. After researching the seller online, he transferred the full amount to a French bank account on June 8.

After about two months without receiving a specific delivery date, he was asked to pay an additional 850 euros for faster delivery. The seller cited an alleged strike by a transport company.

The man refused to make the extra payment, after which contact with the provider broke off. According to police, the container had still not been delivered. The man reported the case, suffering a loss of several thousand euros.
