Police arrest driver after officer injured in Ismaning shooting

Police in Ismaning near Munich fired several shots during a traffic stop after a driver allegedly hit and injured an officer, BR reported. The officer was taken to hospital, while no one is currently believed to have been injured by the gunfire.

The driver initially fled by car and later continued on foot, according to police. A large-scale search involving helicopters, drones and dogs led to his arrest.

The circumstances remain unclear. Investigators have not ruled out a traffic offence as the trigger for the incident.
