Father and son arrested after family dispute turns violent

Two men were arrested after a family dispute escalated in Linz-Ebelsberg on Friday evening, ORF reported. A 29-year-old man from Linz allegedly struck a police officer, while his 55-year-old father tried to stop officers from arresting him.

Police had been called to mediate the dispute between the men when the younger man allegedly hit an officer in an attempt to knock him down. Officers quickly restrained him. Because he resisted arrest, they used both handcuffs and leg restraints.

The father allegedly pushed two officers aside during the arrest and was also detained. Both men were taken to Linz police detention centre. Police said no one was injured.
