A 33-year-old man was found asleep in an unlocked car after allegedly trying to enter a house through a tilted-open window in Weißkirchen an der Traun, ORF reported. A breath test showed a blood alcohol reading of 2.06 per mille.
The man, from the Wels-Land district, was walking at about 3 a.m. after a party and was apparently on his way to his parents’ home in Weißkirchen an der Traun. Police said alcohol may have confused him, leading him to try to enter a stranger’s house.
The homeowner spotted him and called police. The man then allegedly tried to get into a locked car before finding an unlocked one outside the house and lying down inside.
Police found him asleep when they arrived. He told officers he had been looking for somewhere to sleep. He will be reported to the public prosecutor’s office on suspicion of attempted burglary.
