Worker suffers serious head injuries in Gratkorn accident

A 48-year-old worker suffered serious head injuries after falling from a truck’s tail lift in Gratkorn, in the Graz-Umgebung district, ORF reported. He is receiving intensive care at a hospital in Graz.
The accident happened at about 2.30pm on Friday while the man and a 26-year-old colleague were delivering waste containers. The younger worker was driving, while his colleague stood on the truck’s open tail lift. The 48-year-old lost his footing for reasons that remain unclear and fell onto the road.
An emergency doctor from the Red Cross treated him at the scene before he was taken to hospital. The driver tested negative for alcohol. The labour inspectorate has been notified, and investigators are working to establish the cause of the accident.
