A7 to close overnight for emergency exercise in Linz
Austria The A7 motorway will be closed in both directions between Bindermichl and Voest from 7 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Sunday for a large-scale emergency exercise, ORF Upper Austria reports.
About 130 people from ASFINAG, authorities, rescue services, the professional fire brigade and police will take part in the exercise in the covered section at Niedernhart. They will practise responding to crash scenarios in traffic tailbacks.
Traffic will be diverted through Linz’s road network during the closure.
The Mona Lisa Tunnel in Linz will also close in both directions from 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, for maintenance and cleaning. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through. Drivers are advised to allow extra time and use alternative routes.
