The Eastern Region Transport Association (VOR) will raise ticket prices by about 3.4% at the start of 2027, ORF reports. The adjustment is based on the average consumer price index over 12 months, reflecting general price changes in Austria.
In Lower Austria and Burgenland, a single ticket will cost 2.40 euros from January, up 10 cents. A day ticket will rise by 20 cents to 4.70 euros.
The annual VOR Climate Ticket for the metropolitan region, valid in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland, will cost 1,053.10 euros for a full-price ticket paid in one instalment, up from 1,019 euros. The senior and youth or special fares will each be 738.40 euros. Vienna’s annual pass, paid in one instalment, will cost 483.10 euros.
The VOR Climate Ticket for the region, valid in Lower Austria and Burgenland, will cost 570 euros at the full price, or 428 euros for senior and youth or special fares.
The youth ticket, which covers travel between a person’s home and school or workplace-based training, will remain at 29.60 euros. That is also the base price for the Top Youth Ticket, which allows unlimited travel on all VOR lines in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland. Its tariff component will be adjusted for inflation in the 2027-28 school year, raising the price from 101 to 103 euros.
From 1 January 2027, seniors aged 65 and over in Lower Austria and Burgenland will be able to use an official photo ID as their sole proof of eligibility for discounted fares. Previously, they also needed an ÖBB Vorteilscard Senior. Students will be able to use a valid student ID as proof.
