Participants in ORF Radio Upper Austria’s “Lust aufs Wandern” hiking series set out in sunshine on a roughly 14-kilometre route through Hofkirchen im Mühlkreis in the Rohrbach district on Sunday, ORF reported.
The Labyrinth hiking trail links natural, cultural and historical features. Its stops include a plant labyrinth for encounters, a stone labyrinth for quiet reflection and an art labyrinth of transformation at Drei Linden.
The route also follows high paths with views of the Danube Valley and the Alpine foothills. A scenic highlight is the Donauleiten, with its steep slopes and near-natural forests. Hikers also pass the Bockmühle and Hundsfülling Chapel before returning to Hofkirchen along woodland and meadow paths.
A lunch break was planned for about 12.30 p.m. at Wimmer sawmill in Bockmühle. Hofkirchen is the fourth and final stop in this year’s series, following events in Gmunden, Ried im Innkreis and St. Aegidi.
