Former police officer challenges sentence after rape confession
A former federal police officer has filed an appeal on points of law against her conviction for raping a 15-year-old girl, BR reported on Friday. The Traunstein Regional Court sentenced Maja S. to three years and three months in prison earlier this month.
The move came after Maja S. admitted the charges as part of an agreement with prosecutors and the court. In return, the trial was shortened and the teenager did not have to testify. The court had agreed to a sentence of between three and three and a half years; the sentence imposed was at the upper end of that range.
The court also convicted the suspended officer of sexual abuse of minors, bodily harm and possessing recordings depicting sexual violence against children. If the judgment becomes final, she would lose her status as a civil servant and her pension entitlements. The appeal means the ruling is not yet final.
Maja S. admitted that she raped her friend’s 15-year-old daughter in August 2025 in the toilet of a fast-food restaurant during an outing. Under the agreement, she was also to pay the teenager 11,000 euros in compensation. She was held in the men’s unit of Munich prison during the trial.
