FC Liverpool arrived in Upper Austria on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League match against LASK. The English club’s team flew from Liverpool to Linz Airport in Hörsching, ORF reported.
The charter flight landed at 16:13, about 40 minutes late. Another plane carrying delegation members and guests had been expected earlier. Dozens of fans watched the team arrive from the airport’s observation platform.
The team travelled on to Linz, where it was due to hold a press conference and its final training session at the Raiffeisen Arena on Tuesday evening. LASK will host Liverpool there on Wednesday at 18:45. Tickets have been sold out for days, and a large turnout of fans is expected.
Liverpool are considered clear favourites. The club’s squad is valued at more than one billion euros and includes Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister and Federico Chiesa. Liverpool have won 20 league titles.
LASK have gone four consecutive matches without a win and will be missing several players. Liverpool have also had recent personnel problems. The English club previously played in Upper Austria against LASK in the Europa League in 2023.
According to current plans, Liverpool will leave on Wednesday evening, with its flight from Linz Airport scheduled for 23:00.
