Swiss pool associations are urging municipalities to ban glasses with cameras across swimming facilities, citing the risk of people being filmed without their knowledge, SRF reports.
The Swiss Bath Attendants Association, the Association of Indoor and Outdoor Pools and the Swiss Sauna Association say the growing use of camera-equipped glasses threatens privacy in pools and changing areas. The glasses are difficult to distinguish from ordinary eyewear, while their miniature cameras can take photos and videos unnoticed.
The groups want cities and municipalities to update their pool rules quickly and prohibit optical devices with recording functions throughout their facilities. They are providing staff with guidelines and visitors with information posters to help enforce the ban.
The call follows growing political pressure, with proposals for bans already submitted in Bern and Zurich.
