A transport company in Tirol may have been the victim of a major misappropriation after three shipments of aluminium failed to reach their destinations, ORF reported. Police said the shipments contained a total of 68,299 kilograms.
The Tirol company had been tasked with arranging transport from Italy to Germany, Sweden and Czechia. It then hired a company based in Bulgaria to carry out the shipments, which were due to be delivered to different unloading points.
Police said the shipments had not been completed and the goods had not arrived at their intended destinations by Thursday. The Bulgarian company has been unreachable since Tuesday.
The Tirol company reported the case to police in Strass im Zillertal on Thursday. The precise financial loss was not yet known, and police are investigating.
