Fire breaks out on apartment building roof in Graz

A fire broke out on the roof of a multi-apartment building in Graz-Jakomini on Thursday, apparently during torch work, ORF reported.

The fire started on a wooden element. Workers from the construction company tried to contain it with hand-held extinguishers and called the fire brigade.

Graz’s professional fire brigade quickly brought the blaze under control and extinguished remaining embers. Residents had been evacuated as a precaution but were allowed back inside after the fire was declared out. No one was injured.
