Three suspects arrested in Bavaria after a burglary at a gun shop in Innsbruck have been remanded in custody, ORF reported. A judge issued warrants for the three on Saturday at the request of the Munich II public prosecutor’s office.

The suspects are a 34-year-old Dutch man, a 30-year-old man whose nationality has not been established and a 19-year-old French man. They were brought before a judge to decide whether they should be held in custody. Investigations are continuing under the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Criminal Police Station, the Munich II public prosecutor’s office and the Munich public prosecutor general’s office.

The burglary took place on Friday. The suspects smashed display cases and stole several long guns and handguns before fleeing in a car with French registration. They drove over the Zirler Berg into Bavaria, where the car crashed into a hedge in Mittenwald and was abandoned. Police later found a large number of long guns inside.

The suspects continued their escape on foot. Police warned the public not to pick up hitchhikers or approach suspicious people because the suspects might be armed, and urged anyone with information to call the emergency number. Two suspects were arrested on Friday morning and the third that afternoon.

The police operation also disrupted rail services between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Mittenwald. The suspension was lifted around midday on Friday.
