Police identify man found dead on Inn riverbank

Police have identified a body found on the Inn riverbank in Buch, in the Schwaz district, as that of a 48-year-old Hungarian man, ORF reported Friday. An autopsy found no signs of third-party involvement, a police spokesperson told the APA news agency.

The exact cause of death has not yet been established because an expert report is still pending, police said. The final assessment was under way.

A woman out walking had alerted police in Jenbach on Tuesday to a car that had been parked for two days with its window open. During a subsequent search, officers first found fishing equipment and then, the following day, the man’s body on the Inn riverbank.

The search involved water rescue services, firefighters, ambulance crews, an emergency doctor and police and emergency medical helicopters.
