Klagenfurt siren sounds repeatedly during test-related malfunction

A siren on Klagenfurt’s city parish tower sounded several times on Wednesday afternoon because of a malfunction during a test, ORF reported. The fire brigade said there was no emergency and no danger to the public.

The fire brigade reported the fault at the tower. No further information was initially available.

A nationwide civil protection siren test is scheduled for Saturday. All 887 sirens in Carinthia will be tested simultaneously from noon, along with Austria’s AT-Alert emergency notification system for mobile phones.
