Man threatens Klagenfurt bus driver with claimed firearm

A 59-year-old man threatened a bus driver in Klagenfurt on Wednesday morning, claiming he had a firearm, ORF reported. Police found no weapon when they arrested him shortly after 9 a.m.

Police received a report at 8:51 a.m. that an unknown man had threatened the driver with a gun before walking towards Heiligengeistplatz, a square in Klagenfurt. Several police patrols joined the search.

The man admitted making the threat, police said. His arrest was lifted after police proceedings, and he will be reported to the Klagenfurt public prosecutor’s office on suspicion of making a dangerous threat.
