Sölden and Radfeld swear in new mayors

Sölden and Radfeld have officially sworn in new mayors this week, ORF reported. Maximilian Riml has taken over the administration of Sölden, while Simon Schneider is the new mayor of Radfeld. Both succeeded long-serving mayors who had previously announced their resignations.

The ceremonies were conducted by the respective district governors. In Sölden, Bernhard Gamper was also sworn in as deputy mayor. The new municipal leaders pledged to uphold Austria’s federal and state constitutions.

Leadership change in Sölden

Sölden has a new municipal administration following the resignation of Ernst Schöpf. At the beginning of the week, Riml was sworn in as mayor and Gamper as deputy mayor by Imst District Governor Eva Loidhold in the presence of municipal auditors.

Loidhold also thanked Schöpf for his long service. She said he had played a significant role in shaping the municipality since 1986 and had led it with a strong sense of responsibility for more than 40 years.

New mayor in Radfeld

Radfeld has also changed its municipal leadership. After the resignation of long-serving mayor Josef Auer, the municipal council elected Schneider as his successor. On Wednesday, Kufstein District Governor Kurt Berek officially swore Schneider in at the Kufstein district administration office.

Schneider pledged to uphold Austria’s federal and state constitutions. Berek said the office carried responsibility because important decisions affecting people’s daily lives were made in municipalities every day.

According to the report, Auer had been active in municipal politics since the 1990s and had led Radfeld since 2010.
