Upper Austrian fibre maker Lenzing recorded lower revenue and a larger net loss in the first nine months of 2026, ORF reported Thursday.

Revenue fell to 1.926 billion euros from 1.972 billion euros in the same period last year. The company reported a loss after tax of 130.3 million euros, compared with 105 million euros a year earlier.

Lenzing said the result was hit mainly by 136.1 million euros in write-downs on long-term assets at its locations in Heiligenkreuz and Grimsby.

The company also reported lower operating profit and a marked decline in cash inflows from its ongoing business. It said, however, that day-to-day operations had recently stabilised.

Lenzing’s workforce fell by 364, from 7,738 to 7,374 employees.

The company said it completed a capital increase of about 300 million euros in October. It also reached new financing agreements worth around 300 million euros, about half of which is already binding.
