Motorcyclist dies after colliding with truck on Loiblpass road

A 22-year-old man from Klagenfurt died after his motorcycle collided with an oncoming truck on the Loiblpass road in Carinthia on Monday evening, ORF reported.
The man was riding towards Ferlach from the Loiblpass as the last member of a three-motorcycle group. According to the investigation so far, he overtook a car before colliding with the front of a truck travelling towards him from Slovenia.
The impact threw the motorcyclist from his bike and into a roadside ditch. Other people at the scene, a first responder and emergency services provided immediate first aid, but he died shortly afterwards at Klagenfurt Hospital.
Police from Ferlach, the Unterbergen and Ferlach volunteer fire brigades, and the Red Cross attended the crash. The B91 was closed to all traffic until 11 p.m.
