Oil spill causes two motorcyclists to crash near Imst

Two motorcyclists crashed on an oil spill while travelling toward Imst on Wednesday afternoon, with one of them sliding into an oncoming car, ORF reported.

The 28-year-old and 37-year-old riders were part of a four-person motorcycle group from Germany travelling on the Hahntennjochstraße road from Hahntennjoch toward Imst. They lost control at about 3 p.m. and fell.

The 37-year-old then slid into a car driven by a 65-year-old woman and suffered serious injuries, according to police. The 28-year-old sustained injuries of unspecified severity. Both men were taken by ambulance to the hospital in Zams.

The motorcycles were extensively damaged. The L246 was closed to all traffic at the crash site for two hours.
