A 30-year-old petrol station employee was seriously injured in a robbery in Munich after being stabbed at least once, BR reported. Police arrested a 15-year-old suspect shortly afterwards.

The teenager allegedly entered the petrol station in the Bogenhausen district shortly after midnight, threatened the employee with a knife and demanded valuables. He then stabbed the man in the upper body and fled with cash.

The injured employee was able to alert police and emergency services himself. He was taken to hospital and underwent emergency surgery during the night. Police said he is no longer in life-threatening danger.

Officers from a police support unit found and provisionally arrested the teenager shortly before 1 a.m. at the Regina-Ullmann-Straße tram stop. The suspect, who lives in Munich and holds German and Iraqi citizenship, is expected to appear before an investigating judge by Thursday.

Police said they had secured evidence relevant to the case and video recordings. The homicide squad is investigating suspected attempted homicide. The student had already come to police attention this year in connection with a robbery, according to police.
