Firefighters search truck load for missing cyclist after crash

Firefighters searched a load of wood chips by hand after a truck overturned in Villach on Wednesday, ORF reported. A cyclist was initially feared to be buried under the load, but the search found no additional victim.

The truck overturned at about 12.45 p.m. in a railway underpass in the Seebach district for reasons that were not immediately known. The driver was found injured beside the road and taken to Villach Hospital.

Firefighters used shovels to search the load because they could not initially rule out that another person was trapped beneath it. The operation continued until Wednesday evening.

About 35 firefighters attended with eight vehicles.
