A body found on the Inn riverbank in Mühlau, a district of Innsbruck, was most likely that of a 29 year old Turkish man who had been missing from Oetz since August 16, ORF reported.
A passerby discovered the body at about 7 p.m. on Thursday. Innsbruck water rescue crews helped recover it.
An autopsy carried out on Friday found no indications that another person was responsible for the man’s death, according to police.
The Tiroler Tageszeitung reported on August 19 that a 33 year old woman was also missing. The two were reportedly a couple.
Witnesses also saw what appeared to be a woman’s body in the Inn at Silz on August 17. It is not currently clear whether the cases are connected.
