Bad Gastein village bakery faces second insolvency

The Bad Gastein village bakery in Salzburg has become insolvent for the second time in two years, ORF reported. A creditor has filed for bankruptcy, according to the Alpine Creditors Association.
The company said it was the last bakery with its own bakery in the Gastein Valley. It also operates a branch in Saalbach.
The cause of the current insolvency and the company’s financial position are not yet known, the association said.
The bakery first entered restructuring proceedings in 2024 after accumulating 380,000 euros in debt owed to 60 creditors. Structural changes were also delayed.
The business continued operating, with 25 employees affected at the time. It paid the final instalment under the first proceedings in May, fulfilling the agreed restructuring quota of 30 percent.
