Break-in reported at Rene Benko villa in Igls

ORF reported that a break-in occurred at Rene Benko’s villa in Igls around midday on Saturday. The intruders forced open a door, but police said no items had been stolen based on the information available so far.

Police searched the house but found no one inside. Forensic investigators examined the scene, while ten patrols were reportedly deployed, according to the Tiroler Tageszeitung.

Unknown suspects had already tried to force their way into the villa in July but failed because of its security measures. They did, however, take a nearly 200-kilogram dinosaur sculpture by Philippe Pasqua from the garden.
