Vaud Centre party withdraws support for Valérie Dittli

Valérie Dittli has lost the backing of her own party, SRF reported. The presidium of the Centre party in the canton of Vaud will not support the cantonal government member if she stands for re-election in February.

The party leadership withdrew its support in a vote on July 14, Giancarlo Sergi, president of the Vaud Centre party, told the Keystone-SDA news agency.

The presidium had previously declined to say whether it would back Dittli for another term, saying it first wanted to await her decision about her political future.

Dittli has not yet commented. She is expected to announce in the coming days whether she will run again.
