Pallitsch misses 1,500-metre European final

Raphael Pallitsch missed out on the 1,500-metre final at the European Athletics Championships, ORF reported. The athlete from Oggau finished ninth in his semifinal, falling six tenths of a second short of qualification.

Pallitsch described the race as tactical in his first reaction. “Unusual for 1,500 metres. I do not really feel exhausted,” he said, attributing that to how the race unfolded. “I simply activated my classic turbo for the final sprint too late.”

He said he could not yet say how the rest of his season would continue. “It is too early for me to say. I first need to digest this,” Pallitsch said.
