Police arrest Slovenian suspected of serial store burglaries
A 42-year-old Slovenian man has been extradited to Austria after being arrested on suspicion of burglaries at discount household goods stores, ORF reported. He is suspected of at least five burglaries and one attempted burglary in Styria, Carinthia and Burgenland between April 11 and October 5, 2026.
Investigators say he allegedly damaged or knocked down alarm systems before forcing his way into the stores, cutting open safes and stealing cash.
The man was arrested in Slovenia on October 23 under a European arrest warrant and extradited to Austria on Friday. He has not commented on the allegations and was taken to Graz-Jakomini prison.
