The St Pölten prosecutor’s office has dropped its investigation into suspected breach of trust at the Waidhofen/Ybbstal Music School Association, ORF reported. The office found no evidence of wrongdoing.
A spokesperson told ORF that investigators found no evidence that the former music school director, who has since died, or anyone else had committed breach-of-trust offences.
An audit conducted after the director’s death found, among other things, that fees had been paid without the legally required deductions. The prosecutor’s office then opened an investigation.
The investigation, launched in 2025, initially focused on one named person and one unidentified person. The municipal oversight authority had reported shortcomings in areas including cash handling and bookkeeping and filed a complaint. The director’s interim successor had also noticed irregularities and reported them to the tax office.
