Switzerland’s National Council Foreign Affairs Committee has backed a 193 million-franc contribution to the Erasmus+ education exchange programme in 2027, SRF reported.

The committee voted 16 to 9 to recommend that the National Council approve the funding decree without changes. The Council of States has already approved the credit, although the contribution was also disputed in that chamber. The committee considered several motions seeking to block it from taking up the proposal before making its recommendation.

The committee has not finished reviewing the broader package of agreements with the EU. Decisions on immigration and on whether a referendum should be mandatory or optional remain open. The committee plans to conclude its deliberations in mid-November.
