E-bike crash seriously injures 68-year-old in Niederndorf

A 68-year-old man was seriously injured in an e-bike crash in Niederndorf, a municipality in Kufstein district, on Wednesday, ORF reported.

At about 2.45pm, the Austrian was riding downhill on a mountain road when he lost control for an unknown reason near the cemetery. He fell headfirst onto the asphalt.

A 48-year-old witness from Germany called for help and gave first aid. After receiving initial treatment, the injured man was flown by rescue helicopter to a hospital in Innsbruck.

A rescue vehicle, a first responder, two police patrols and the Niederndorf volunteer fire brigade also attended.
