A two-year exhibition on Holocaust survivor Leokadia Justman has attracted 9,514 visitors, ORF reported. The exhibition closed at Innsbruck’s Landhaus on Austria’s National Day and will move to the city’s Faculty of Theology in November.

“Leokadia Justman. Let us break out!” told the story of the Polish Jewish woman who survived the Holocaust. It opened on January 27, 2025, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, in the presence of Justman’s son, Jeffrey Wisnicki.

The exhibition held 114 guided tours for schools, reaching about 2,500 students and nearly 200 teachers, the Tyrol state government said. Events in the districts also explored Justman’s story through theatre, readings and the presentation of a new graphic novel.

The exhibition will be on view at the Faculty of Theology until June 2027. Digital teaching materials, including videos, image collections and interactive resources, will be available to Tyrol schools through the LEON learning platform from November 9.

Justman’s story is being translated into Polish and Spanish and will be adapted into a new play at the Tyrolean State Theatre in 2027. The next exhibition at the Landhaus, “Having a choice,” is due to open on February 2, 2027, and will focus on democracy, elections and participation.
