A kitchen fire at an Asian restaurant in Vöcklabruck sent seven people to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation on Friday, ORF reported. No guests were in the restaurant at the time, and the cause of the fire remains unclear.
The fire broke out after 4 p.m. while staff were in the apartments above the restaurant. Vöcklabruck volunteer firefighters stopped the flames from spreading to the rest of the building.
The restaurant sustained significant damage, and smoke affected the entire building. The seven people, aged between six and 62, had no apparent injuries. The Red Cross treated them before they were taken to Salzkammergut Klinikum Vöcklabruck hospital for further assessment.
