Driver escapes with minor injuries after car plunges from glacier road

A 21-year-old German woman suffered minor injuries when her car left the Kaunertal Glacier Road and plunged into a stream bed on Friday morning, ORF reported.

She was driving towards the glacier ski area shortly after 7 a.m. when the car went off the road near the Krumpkampen bus stop and fell about 10 metres, police said. The cause is unknown.

The woman got out of the vehicle unaided and was taken to Zams hospital after receiving initial treatment. The car was written off, and part of the road’s safety barrier was damaged.
