AMAG raises 2026 earnings outlook after strong quarter
Austria Metall AG, the aluminium group known as AMAG, increased sales and earnings in the first nine months of 2026, ORF reported, and said it expects full-year EBITDA of 200 million to 220 million euros. Revenue rose 16.4 percent to 1.32 billion euros, while adjusted EBITDA climbed 58.9 percent to 181.4 million euros. Net profit reached 81.7 million euros, up 141.6 percent from the same period last year.
AMAG attributed the results to higher sales volumes and aluminium prices, including stronger sales in its rolling division and favourable market conditions at its stake in Alouette, a Canadian aluminium smelting operation. A stronger euro against the US dollar had a negative effect. The company said higher volumes and prices affected cash flow and net debt, while its leverage ratio fell by 2 percent.
Chief executive Victor Breguncci said the third quarter was exceptionally strong. EBITDA for the quarter was 80.3 million euros, the company’s second-best quarterly result on record. Total sales volumes rose 6.9 percent year on year to 342,900 tonnes.
The rolling division recorded higher sales in automotive, heat exchanger and aviation markets. The casting division reported solid volumes of recycled casting alloys, while primary aluminium sales increased in the metals division. AMAG expects stable production at Alouette, continued attractive prices for aluminium and alumina, high productivity in its casting and rolling divisions, and benefits from cost-efficiency measures.
The company cited risks including short-term movements in market prices, changes to US import duties, weaker-than-expected sales in the rolling division and sudden energy price increases.
