Styrian technology group Andritz increased its revenue and profit in the third quarter, while its order backlog reached a record, ORF reported.

Revenue rose 9.2 percent year on year to more than 2.05 billion euros, and group profit increased 14.4 percent to 127.3 million euros, the company said on Thursday. Orders received totalled just over 2.16 billion euros, broadly matching the level a year earlier.

At the end of September, the order backlog stood at more than 12.72 billion euros, up 21.7 percent from the end of 2025 and the highest in the company’s history. Andritz attributed the increase mainly to sustained demand for renewable energy and the modernisation of existing hydropower plants.

In the Hydropower business, third-quarter orders rose 34.2 percent to 703.9 million euros. Orders in Metals increased to 357.4 million euros, from 295.8 million euros a year earlier.

Orders fell 24.5 percent to 706.8 million euros in Pulp & Paper, and declined 6.1 percent to 398.1 million euros in Environment & Energy.

Andritz confirmed its 2026 outlook, expecting project activity to remain high. The company continues to forecast a return to growth, with revenue of 8 billion to 8.3 billion euros and a comparable EBITA margin of 8.7 to 9.1 percent. Chief Executive Joachim Schönbeck said the company would work to turn its high order backlog into profitable growth.
