Bruckmühl, healthcare, insolvency

The geriatric rehabilitation clinic in Bruckmühl has filed for insolvency after authorities imposed restrictions over deficiencies, BR reported. Rosenheim District Court said it had appointed Munich lawyer Michael Verken as provisional insolvency administrator at the company’s request.

Rosenheim District Office had started proceedings to revoke the clinic’s licence, citing mainly shortcomings in its documentation, as well as individual problems with basic hygiene, wound care and patient positioning. After another inspection by the health authority in early October, the proceedings were put on hold.

The district authority said some of the serious documentation problems had been addressed, but significant improvements were still needed. It decided to give the clinic more time to meet the remaining requirements.

In the meantime, the clinic was ordered to limit occupancy to 30 beds, half its capacity. It was not due to be allowed to apply for an increase until January 2027. Media reports identified the bed limit as the main reason for the clinic’s payment difficulties.
