A 33-year-old driver fled police at excessive speed and caused a crash in Wiener Neustadt over the weekend, ORF reported. Four people in the other car were slightly injured.
A police patrol saw the man accelerate out of a roundabout with his wheels spinning. When officers activated their blue lights, he sped away through a 30 km/h zone.
At an intersection where he was required to give way, the driver collided with a car driven by a 24-year-old woman. She and her passengers, aged 13, 44 and 61, were slightly injured and taken to Wiener Neustadt State Hospital.
The 33-year-old was uninjured. Police found that he did not have a driving licence because it had previously been taken away following a speeding offence. After their investigation, officers will report him to the Wiener Neustadt public prosecutor’s office and the relevant administrative authority.
