Two teenagers were injured when an unregistered motocross bike crashed in Neuhofen an der Ybbs, in Amstetten district, ORF reported. The 17-year-old rider did not have a valid driving licence, and the 16-year-old passenger was also hurt.

The crash happened shortly after 11.30pm on Saturday. Police said the rider likely lost control after travelling too fast, and the bike left the road and fell into a field. The rider was seriously injured. The motorcycle belonged to him.

Both teenagers were treated at Landesklinikum Amstetten hospital. Once their inquiries are complete, police will file reports with the St Pölten Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Amstetten District Authority.
