Bürs firefighters rescue woman from burning apartment

Firefighters rescued a woman from her burning apartment in Bürs overnight, ORF reported. She suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to Bludenz Hospital.

Police said the fire broke out in the apartment’s kitchen around midnight. Another resident smelled smoke and called emergency services.

Firefighters and police evacuated the residential block because of heavy smoke. The fire was quickly brought under control, and no one else was injured. After the building was ventilated, the other residents were able to return to their apartments.

The cause of the fire remains unclear and is under investigation.
