Firefighters rescue roe deer from shaft in Großarl

The volunteer fire brigade in Großarl, in the Pongau district, rescued a roe deer from a deep shaft beside the Großarler Landesstraße on Sunday, ORF’s Salzburg service reported.

Passers-by spotted the animal around midday. Unable to get out on its own, the roe deer was reported to the fire brigade, which sent 20 members to the scene.

After the rescue, the animal was handed over to the responsible hunter.
