An attempted break-in at a jewellery shop in Kirchdorf an der Krems, a town in Upper Austria, failed when the suspect could not get through its armoured glazing, ORF reported. Police said the incident happened at about 3 a.m. on Monday.
The suspect apparently struck the shop window several times with an emergency hammer, badly damaging it, but could not break through the inner pane. The person fled on a black electric scooter without taking anything. A police search has so far been unsuccessful.
Police believe the suspect may be a slim teenager. The person was wearing a black balaclava marked with an “A”, a black hooded jacket, black trousers and black shoes with white soles.
The black scooter had two round rear lights. Kirchdorf an der Krems police are asking anyone with information to call 059133 4120.
