A 55-year-old woman was seriously injured in a collision on the summer toboggan run in Leutasch on Saturday, ORF reported. She was flown by emergency helicopter to Innsbruck Clinic.
Shortly before 2 p.m., the woman and a 59-year-old man were riding one behind the other while a 44-year-old employee was cleaning the track. Because it had not been fully cleaned, both riders lost control. The man collided with the employee, and the woman was unable to stop in time, striking both men.
The woman suffered a serious lower-leg injury. Mountain railway staff and mountain rescue workers gave her initial treatment. The two men were uninjured, police said. Investigations into the exact circumstances are continuing.
