Worker falls from delivery vehicle in Gratkorn

A 48-year-old worker was seriously injured after falling from a moving delivery vehicle in Gratkorn near Graz on Friday afternoon, ORF Steiermark reported.

He was travelling with a 26-year-old colleague to deliver waste containers in a housing estate. The younger man was driving while the 48-year-old was apparently on the vehicle’s open tail lift. For reasons that remain unclear, he lost his footing and fell onto the road.

Emergency medical staff treated him at the scene before the Red Cross took him to hospital. A breath test on the driver was negative. The cause of the accident is under investigation, and the labour inspectorate has been notified.
