Police seek suspect after bottle attack in Graz

Police in Graz are seeking information about an assault in which several unidentified people allegedly injured a 39-year-old man. ORF reported that investigators have released an image of one suspect.

The incident happened at about 3.15 a.m. on October 12, 2025, at a venue on Opernring in central Graz. The man, who lives in Graz, was there with a friend when someone tried to take something from their bottle, leading to an argument.

One unidentified person hit the man on the head with a bottle, after which several people punched and kicked him. He was treated at the scene and taken to LKH Graz hospital with minor injuries. A surveillance camera captured one of the suspected attackers.

After initial investigations failed to identify the suspect, the Graz Public Prosecutor’s Office authorised the release of the image. Police at Schmiedgasse station are asking anyone with information to call 059 133/6593.
